Bigger is not always better when it comes to weddings. You may want something that is simple and yet very special. Consider the following tips for the simple wedding of your dreams.
Pare down the invite list
You do not need to invite everyone and their brother and their brother’s mailman to your wedding. Some people feel like they are obligated to invite practically everyone that they have ever shaken hands with, but you need to think about the type of wedding that you want. A wedding with five hundred guests may be a lot of things, but simple is probably not one of them. You may want your wedding to be about the two of you and your closest of family and friends. Although you may have to explain a few things you can tell people that you wanted a very intimate ceremony.
Some people literally want a very small wedding for only themselves and a few guests. Just because you only have ten people does not mean that it cannot be the most special event ever. Ultimately it is about the couple.
Have simple food
Sometimes people get so extravagant with the food that they can’t even recognize half of what is served. It is not necessary to have the most exotic sounding items. You can have the simple foods that you enjoy if they are meaningful to you and your life. You do not need to have ten courses. If you have a wedding cake, you do not need an entire dessert table.
Do not overdo the wedding party
Some people will have ten bridesmaids and town groomsmen. Some will have twenty! When you have such a huge wedding party, suddenly things might not be as simple anymore. You need to worry about accommodating everyone, getting everyone down the aisle and so forth. Limit your bridal party.
Do not overdo the decorations
Some people end up decorating an area so much that they get lost in it. You may just want to have simple wedding in nature such as at a park overlooking a lake or at a beach. You can have simple bunches of wildflowers on the tables instead of towering displays that make it difficult to see those sitting across from you.
Keeping a wedding simple can be not only sweet but cut down on costs significantly. It can let you focus on what is truly important – love.
